Job summary

The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough is seeking a 1:1 Recreational Support Professional for the Southborough Extended Day Program. This part-time role provides individualized support to a student with disabilities in after-school activities and works under the SEDP Director.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP-based strategies, assisting with social and emotional development, and collaborating with staff to maximize the student’s potential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher, or passing an assessment measuring ability to assist teachers in reading, writing, and math.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities is a plus.
• Willingness to learn various software and AV tools to support presentations.

Responsibilities

• Work 1 on 1 with the student according to IEP goals.
• Provide individualized support in after-school recreational activities.
• Collaborate with Extended Day staff to support social, emotional, and physical development.
• Monitor progress and adjust guidance to maximize student potential.
• Participate in required professional development and share daily strategies.
• Assist with daily routines such as toileting, snack, and transportation support.
