Job summary

Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough – Northborough Extended Day Program is seeking an NEDP Assistant Group Leader to join a team providing a safe, enriching after-school childcare experience for K–5 students at Northborough elementary schools. Responsibilities include supervising activities, assisting in program development, and ensuring a warm, inclusive environment.

The role requires 16+ years old, background checks, and CPR/First Aid within 60 days of hire, with a supportive team

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age and able to obtain work permit if required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with elementary age children is preferred.
• Must pass all background checks (CORI, SORI, DCF, Fingerprinting).
• Current First Aid/CPR certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support Group Leader in developing and implementing activities.
• Supervise and engage children during activities.
• Assist with setup and cleanup of daily program.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Attend mandatory monthly meetings and professional development trainings.
