Job summary

The Beverly Teachers Association Unit C is seeking a Classroom Assistant to support students with disabilities within Beverly Public Schools. You will work under the supervision of a certified teacher to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal support in an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional events, assisting with strategies, supporting individuals and small groups, and helping with non-instructional duties.

Qualifications

• At least one (1) year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for classroom instructional events and other educational or non-educational activities under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Assist with implementing strategies and interventions developed by the teacher for reinforcing material based on individual student needs.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce material and help students master instructional tasks.
• Assist with non-instructional duties such as attendance, supervision during lunch/bus transitions, and classroom organization.
• Escort and supervise students as needed during emergencies or daily activities.
• Set up and operate instructional/assistive technology under teacher direction.
• Participate in available professional development activities.
