Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a One-to-One Paraprofessional to provide direct support to an individual student under supervision of the teacher. The role involves instructional support, assistive care, and collaboration with staff to implement daily lesson plans.

The position requires flexibility to meet the student’s needs and may include working at different district schools. Education credentials and authorization to work in the United States are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Trained in ABA or willing to train.
• Ability to communicate with parents/guardians and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with small-group and individual instruction.
• Support with toileting, transfers, hygiene, and personal care.
• Assist with language systems (ASL, SEE 2, PECS, communication boards, etc.), Braille, ABA, behavior management, redirection, de-escalation and safe physical holds as needed.
• Collaborate with classroom teacher to implement daily lesson plans.
• Maintain open communications with parents and staff.
• Perform other related duties as requested by school leadership.
