Job summary

Beverly Teachers Association unit seeks a classroom assistant to support students with disabilities under a certified teacher's supervision. You will reinforce instructional material and help students develop independence in a safe, inclusive classroom.

Responsibilities include small-group work, test-taking support, and assisting with non-instructional duties. CORI/SORI background checks and eligibility to work in the United States are required.

• One year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a certified teacher, prepare for classroom instructional events and other educational or non educational activities.
• Assist the teacher in implementing special strategies and interventions for reinforcing material based on individual students.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce material, aid independence, and implement remedial exercises.
• Assist teachers with non-instructional duties, including attendance, supervision, proctoring, and materials management.
• Set up and operate instructional technology under the direction of the teacher.
• Participate in professional development activities.
