Bethel School District is seeking a Paraeducator for Mainstream Special Education to provide 1:1 support and assist certificated staff with instruction and behavior management at Spanaway Lake High. The role follows the PSE Salary Schedule Level 5, pays $25.40 per hour, with 6.5 hours/day across 168 days and 7 hours/day for 4 days in the first year toward certification.

The position requires completing Right Response training within 3-5 months, and meeting state paraeducator certification

Qualifications

• Must meet federal minimum employment requirements for paraeducators.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; state certification pursued.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.

Responsabilités

• Assist certificated staff with instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Instruct students individually or in small groups and monitor progress.
• Supervise student activities and maintain behavior management.
• Maintain records, logs and assignments for assessment of progress.
• Communicate with staff, parents and the public regarding student progress.
• May provide physical assistance and monitor first aid needs.
