Job summary

Bethel School District is seeking a paraeducator to support certificated staff in mainstream special education classrooms. The role involves instructing students individually or in small groups, monitoring progress and assisting with behavior management.

Position is a 1:1 assignment with potential location changes based on student needs. Requires completion of required state paraeducator certifications and Right Response training within stated timelines. Wages follow the district salary schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent; multiple qualification paths listed.
• Fingerprinting and background check required; adherence to district infection control plan.

Responsibilities

• Attend to instructional and non-instructional duties for mainstream special education students.
• Instruct students individually or in small groups; monitor and document progress.
• Supervise student behavior in classrooms and on grounds; enforce safety rules and discipline.
• Establish and maintain communication with students, parents, staff and the public.
• May assist with personal hygiene and physical positioning as needed.
