Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Washington state is seeking a Paraeducator, Learning Support for a one-on-one position. The role covers 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year, supporting students under the supervision of a certificated staff member, helping with reading, math, and daily classroom activities.

Candidates must provide a high school diploma or GED; transcripts showing some college credits or an ETS ParaPro score; at least one year of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Transcripts showing an Associate's degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits or ParaPro score 455+ required.
• One year of related experience in education preferred.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to communicate with diverse students and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom activities and individualized instruction under teacher direction.
• Support student learning in reading, writing, math, and social/behavioral skills.
• Manage student behavior in coordination with certificated staff.
• Assist with data entry, record keeping, and filing as needed.
• Attend training meetings to broaden expertise working with students with special needs.
