Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator, Learning Support for a one-on-one role. The position runs 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year and is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The district emphasizes confidentiality, collaboration with teachers, and effective student support. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, plus college credits or ParaPro results, and at least one year of related experience with children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Official transcripts for an Associate's degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits, or ParaPro score 455+.
• One year of related experience with children preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow teacher guidance and implement classroom plans.

Responsibilities

• Treat co-workers, supervisors, students, and parents with dignity and respect at all times.
• Assist with classroom activities and supervise students.
• Lead small groups in reading, writing, math and social/behavioral skills.
• Support certificated staff with goals and progress tracking.
