Job summary

Edmonds School District invites qualified applicants for the Paraeducator IB role. You will work in intensive learning support or special education environments providing instructional support and supervision for students with diverse needs.

You will prepare learning materials, track progress, collect data, and help implement behavior plans as part of a collaborative team across IS, ISES, ILS and DK classrooms.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher from an accredited college.
• 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher.
• Paraeducator apprenticeship or PESB-approved assessments.
• First Aid and CPR certifications (or ability to obtain within 1 year).
• De-escalation and physical restraint training (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Special Education Certificate (Or ability to obtain within 2 years).
• Maintain training and proper transfer techniques including the Hoyer lift.
• Mandatory in-person training prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional support and supervision in intensive learning support classrooms and K-12 settings.
• Prepare educational materials and monitor student progress.
• Collect student data and assist in implementing behavior plans.
