Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students with intensive behavioral needs. You will work one-on-one with assigned students, assisting in implementing behavior plans and tracking progress under IEPs.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, de-escalation when needed, and maintaining a safe, supportive classroom environment. The role requires a high school diploma and experience in education settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals in their IEP and provide accommodations.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Use behavior support and intervention strategies to support students.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis management to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment supporting social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure continuous monitoring during movement between locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent implementation of plans.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
