Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is hiring a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students with intensive behavioral needs in K-12 settings.

You will assist in implementing behavior plans, monitoring progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and success. The role emphasizes crossing diverse backgrounds, de-escalation and crisis management, and close communication with families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor's degree highly preferred.
• Experience implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs.
• Emotional consistency and resilience to handle stressful situations.
• Flexibility and willingness to jump in and support where needed to ensure safety and well-being of staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Provide monitoring and support throughout the school site.
• Support the creation and implementation of behavior support plans.
• Record, track, and document behavioral incidents and progress toward goals.
• Utilize PBIS strategies and school incentives.
• Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis management as needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in post-event debriefings and communicate with parents.
