Job summary

Soliant Health is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students and staff in an educational setting near New Bloomfield, MO. This contract role focuses on facilitating communication, accessibility, and inclusivity for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students during classes and events.

You will provide real-time ASL interpretation, adapt your style to individual needs, and collaborate with teachers and administrators to ensure equitable access to instruction and school activities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational environments.
• Ability to facilitate clear, accurate interpretation between ASL and spoken English.
• Understanding of confidentiality requirements in school settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, educators, and support staff.
• Certification as an interpreter is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time interpretation for students and staff during classroom instruction, meetings, events, and extracurricular activities.
• Support communication across a variety of academic subjects and grade levels.
• Adapt interpreting style to meet the needs and abilities of individual students.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, special education professionals, and administrators to ensure inclusive educational experiences.
