Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students with intensive behavioral needs under IEP guidance.

You will work one-on-one, implement and modify behavior plans, and help maintain a safe, supportive classroom and school environment. You will collaborate with teachers and staff, track progress, communicate with families, and participate in data-driven interventions to promote student success.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in applying behavioral interventions in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Work in a setting with diverse students from varying backgrounds.
• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals in their IEP.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data toward goals and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment for social and behavioral skill development.
• Supervise students and ensure they are always monitored during transit between locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
