Job summary

Newtimes Group of Companies in Istanbul seeks a Senior Garment Technician to lead the technical development and production of garments across multiple categories. You will oversee fit, construction, and workmanship, review samples, and troubleshoot production issues with vendors and factories, ensuring brand standards and sustainability requirements.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of garment technical experience, preferably with international brands.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fitting and production processes.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Oversee fit, construction, and workmanship across multiple product categories.
• Collaborate with design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure accurate technical execution.
• Review and approve samples (proto, fit, PP, TOP) with detailed technical comments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with vendors/factories.
• Provide guidance on pattern, grading, and sewing techniques to optimize garment quality.
• Ensure compliance with brand requirements and sustainability standards.
• Maintain and update both customer systems (e.g., PLM, SRM) and internal systems with accurate data (sample approvals, comments, production status, etc.).

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Garment Technician to join our Istanbul office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of garment development and production, ensuring compliance with brand standards, supporting vendors and factories, and maintaining accurate system entries in both customer (e.g., PLM, SRM) and internal platforms.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee fit, construction, and workmanship across multiple product categories.
• Collaborate with design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure accurate technical execution.
• Review and approve samples (proto, fit, PP, TOP) with detailed technical comments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with vendors/factories.
• Provide guidance on pattern, grading, and sewing techniques to optimize garment quality.
• Ensure compliance with brand requirements and sustainability standards.
• Maintain and update both customer systems (e.g., PLM, SRM) and internal systems with accurate data (sample approvals, comments, production status, etc.).

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in garment technical roles, preferably with international brands.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fitting, and production processes.
• Experience in denim and woven categories is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written & spoken).
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with customer platforms (e.g., PLM, SRM) and ability to perform accurate data entry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness and ability to travel (no travel restrictions).
• Knowledge of the USA apparel market is a strong advantage.
