For one of our corporate clients operating in the FMCG industry, we are looking for an experienced Regional General Manager to lead sustainable, efficient, and profitable growth across international markets.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Regional General Manager will lead the organization’s international sales regions, excluding Saudi Arabia, with responsibility for driving growth, sales, volume, market share, and profitability. The role will oversee Export Regional Managers, Managers, and related sales teams while shaping and executing the commercial strategy across multiple countries and regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-term commercial strategies and growth roadmaps for the international markets under responsibility,
- Define and manage country- and region-level targets for net sales, revenue, volume, distribution, market share, and profitability, taking timely actions based on performance,
- Strengthen sustainable and profitable growth in existing markets while identifying and developing new country, customer, channel, and business partnership opportunities,
- Lead market-entry strategies and develop Route-to-Market and value chain models with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and profitability,
- Define the commercial approach for distributors, key accounts, retail chains, and strategic business partners, building long-term and mutually beneficial relationships,
- Monitor distributor and customer performance across sales, distribution, inventory, collections, profitability, and joint business plans, ensuring the implementation of required improvement actions,
- Lead annual negotiations and joint business planning processes with strategic customers and manage senior-level commercial relationships,
- Manage country- and region-specific product portfolios, pricing architecture, commercial terms, and profitability models in line with market and competitive dynamics,
- Develop annual sales budgets and business plans and closely monitor net sales, gross profit, EBITDA, expenses, collections, and working capital performance,
- Monitor customer credit exposure, collection performance, and commercial and country risks in close collaboration with Finance and Legal teams,
- Manage the balance between sales forecasts, orders, inventory levels, and product availability in collaboration with Supply Chain and Planning teams,
- Translate consumer, customer, competitor, category, and channel insights into commercial strategies and actionable growth plans,
- Provide strategic commercial direction to new product development, innovation, packaging, pricing, and portfolio initiatives based on regional market needs,
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Trade Marketing, Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Legal, Quality, and Customer Service teams to ensure end-to-end commercial effectiveness,
- Ensure alignment with relevant export regulations, contractual requirements, quality standards, certifications, sustainability requirements, and customer expectations in collaboration with related functions,
- Represent the organization at international trade fairs, strategic customer meetings, market visits, and business development activities,
- Lead Export Regional Managers, Managers, and sales teams, overseeing their objectives, performance, capabilities, and development,
- Foster common ways of working, agile decision-making, customer centricity, and a high-performance culture across countries and regional teams,
- Analyze and regularly report sales performance, market development, distributor and customer performance, profitability, collections, inventory, and key operational indicators to the CEO and senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a relevant university program; a Master’s degree is preferred,
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in Sales,
- At least 4 years of experience within FMCG categories such as chocolate, biscuits, cakes, snacks, ice cream, beverages, or chips,
- Strong and proven experience in international sales, export operations, distributor management, and strategic account management,
- Proven leadership experience across multi-country and multi-regional sales organizations,
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in Route-to-Market, value chain management, Trade Marketing, portfolio management, pricing, and profitability,
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to effectively manage sales budgets, gross profit, EBITDA, collections, credit risk, and working capital,
- Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new markets, channels, customers, and commercial partnerships,
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities, with experience developing senior managers and high-performing teams,
- Ability to operate effectively across different countries, cultures, and complex stakeholder environments,
- Strong strategic planning, negotiation, analytical thinking, and decision-making capabilities,
- Results-driven, customer-focused, and committed to delivering sustainable and profitable growth,
- Agile and solution-oriented, with the ability to make effective decisions in dynamic and uncertain market environments,
- Fluency in English,
- Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
