Job summary

Volex seeks a visionary Regional Engineering Director to transform our Sivas-based manufacturing facility into a world-class centre of Manufacturing Excellence. You will shape and execute the regional engineering strategy, set best-in-class engineering and quality standards, and lead complex global program transfers that strengthen our Tier 1 automotive capabilities.

As Regional Engineering Director, you’ll drive operational excellence across the regional footprint from the Gebze Head Office,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience in automotive or wire harness manufacturing.
• Minimum 8 years in leadership roles.
• Experience in Tier 1 automotive environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the regional engineering and technical roadmap.
• Standardize workflows for NPI, Product, Manufacturing, and Quality.
• Integrate IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and APQP principles across operations.
• Lead consolidation and manufacturing excellence initiatives.
• Lead complex program transfers across global manufacturing sites.
• Oversee project transfers into Sivas and export mature programs globally.
• Ensure technical readiness and risk mitigation during transitions.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing engineering leadership team.

This is a strategic leadership role at the heart of our regional growth. You will shape and execute the regional engineering strategy, set best‑in‑class engineering and quality standards, and lead complex global program transfers that strengthen our Tier 1 automotive capabilities.

As Regional Engineering Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in scaling the organization, driving operational excellence across the regional footprint, and ensuring technical consistency with our global manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

• Define and implement the regional engineering and technical roadmap
• Standardize workflows for NPI, Product, Manufacturing, and Quality
• Integrate IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and APQP principles across operations
• Lead consolidation and manufacturing excellence initiatives

Global Project Mobility

• Lead complex program transfers across global manufacturing sites
• Oversee project transfers into Sivas and export mature programs globally, moving complex HMLV programs from global satellite plants into Sivas or transitioning Sivas‑matured programs to other Volex locations.
• Ensure technical readiness and risk mitigation during transitions

Organizational Scaling

• Build and mentor a high‑performing engineering leadership team
• Strengthen Tier 1 automotive operational discipline
• Develop succession planning and technical leadership capability

Center of Excellence Governance

• Establish Sivas as the regional technical knowledge hub ensuring all satellite plants operate as high‑fidelity mirrors of Sivas master standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience in automotive or wire harness manufacturing
• Minimum 8 years in leadership roles
• Experience in Tier 1 automotive environment preferred
• Proven experience in plant transfers and industrialization projects
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans
• Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 preferred
• Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement expertise
• Experience with high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environments
• Strategic mindset and organizational transformation experience
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to lead multicultural and global teams
