About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and student-focused Portfolio Advisor (Study Abroad) to guide students throughout their university application journey.

As a Portfolio Advisor, you will work closely with students in regular one-on-one meetings, helping them build strong academic and extracurricular portfolios while monitoring their progress and keeping them on track for their long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular portfolio meetings with students and their families.
• Develop personalized application and portfolio strategies based on each student's academic goals.
• Guide students in preparing high-quality application materials, including:
• CVs/Resumes
• Personal Statements
• Motivation Letters
• Activity Lists
• Supplemental Essays
• Monitor and track students' academic and extracurricular progress.
• Support students throughout AP, IB, A-Level, SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, and other standardized testing timelines.
• Create individualized action plans and ensure students stay on schedule.
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and student documentation.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student development and milestones.
• Research international universities, admission requirements, scholarships, and application updates.
• Collaborate with the admissions and academic advising teams to ensure a smooth student experience.
• Provide guidance on extracurricular planning, leadership opportunities, competitions, internships, volunteer work, and profile-building activities.
• Assist students in setting realistic academic and career goals throughout high school.

QualificationsRequired

• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with strong time-management abilities.
• Ability to mentor, motivate, and build meaningful relationships with students.
• Bachelor's degree in English Language Teaching, English Language and Literature, Translation & Interpreting, American Culture & Literature, Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent advanced English proficiency.

Preferred

• Previous experience in study abroad consulting or international education.
• Familiarity with US, UK, Canada, Europe, and other international admissions systems.
• Experience working with AP, IB, A-Level, SAT, ACT, IELTS, TOEFL, or similar academic programs.
• Experience reviewing or editing university application essays.
• Knowledge of university admissions timelines and scholarship opportunities.
• Experience using CRM systems or student management platforms.
