Responsibilities

• Monitor national and international environmental and OHS legislation and integrate into processes.
• Prepare annual sustainability reports (GRI) and manage ESG reporting.
• Perform GHG emissions calculations, reporting and data management per ISO 14064 and MRV.
• Record and analyze OHS incidents, conduct root cause analyses and implement CAPAs.
• Analyse water consumption data and support water efficiency projects.
• Support risk assessments and ensure ISO 14001/45001 system documentation.
• Participate in internal and external audits and coordinate across facilities.
• Manage regulatory notifications to authorities (e.g., TÜİK) and data requests.
• Coordinate ESG information requests and reporting to stakeholders.
• Plan and deliver training to strengthen sustainability culture.

Job description

Kastamonu Entegre Ağaç Sanayi, one of the two locomotive companies of Hayat Holding, was established in 1969 for production in the wooden panel industry and today has become a global power, ranking 1st in Türkiye, 3rd in Europe, and 4th worldwide in its field. Kastamonu Entegre Headquarters is looking for a "OHS and Environmental Specialist" to join its Operations team. The position is based in Gebze, Kocaeli.

• Monitoring national and international legislation, standards and developments related to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety, and ensuring their integration into company processes,
• Contributing to the preparation of annual sustainability reports in line with relevant sustainability reporting standards, particularly GRI,
• Carrying out greenhouse gas emissions calculation, reporting and data management processes in accordance with ISO 14064, the GHG Protocol and MRV regulations, and coordinating verification activities,
• Managing the recording, analysis and reporting of occupational accidents and other OHS incidents, conducting root cause analyses, and following up on corrective and preventive actions,
• Analysing water consumption data and contributing to the development, implementation and performance monitoring of improvement projects related to water efficiency, water footprint and resource efficiency,
• Supporting environmental risk assessments, environmental aspect and impact analyses, and OHS risk assessment activities, and following up on the related action plans,
• Preparing, updating and ensuring the implementation of procedures, instructions, management plans and other system documentation within the scope of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems,
• Actively participating in internal and external audit processes,
• Managing official notifications, statutory reporting requirements and data requests from relevant authorities, including the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), accurately and within the required deadlines,
• Managing ESG-related information requests from customers, investors and other stakeholders, and preparing the relevant reports,
• Contributing to the planning and implementation of training, awareness and communication activities aimed at strengthening the sustainability culture across the organisation,
• Coordinating Environmental and OHS processes across multiple facilities and ensuring effective communication and alignment among different locations.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering,
• Strong analytical thinking skills with experience in data analysis, reporting and monitoring performance indicators,
• Sound knowledge of national and international Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety legislation, with the ability to monitor regulatory changes and integrate them into business processes,
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems,
• Knowledge of greenhouse gas calculation and reporting methodologies, including ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol,
• Knowledge of ESG performance indicators, sustainability reporting and data management processes,
• Knowledge of water management, water efficiency and water footprint methodologies,
• Strong communication, coordination, stakeholder management and representation skills,
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-site organisational structure,
• Strong planning and organisational skills,
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint,
• Knowledge of Power BI is an asset,
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in environmental management, occupational health and safety and/or sustainability,
• Experience in greenhouse gas emission calculation, reporting and verification processes under ISO 14064, the GHG Protocol and preferably MRV regulations,
• Experience in internal and external management system audits,
• Preferably holding an internal auditor certificate for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 standards,
• Preferably knowledgeable about SEVESO regulations and process safety management, with experience in related audit processes,
• Preferably experienced in sustainability reporting frameworks and standards such as GRI, TSRS, CDP or equivalent,
• Preferably experienced in water footprint calculations and water efficiency projects,
• No restrictions on domestic or international travel.
