Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking an Ocean Freight Export Specialist to manage export shipments from booking through final delivery, acting as the main customer contact and coordinating with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure compliant and profitable execution.

You will prepare export documents, monitor shipments, and address inquiries while upholding service quality and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in Ocean Freight Export Operations, Freight Forwarding, or Logistics.
• Knowledge of international transportation, shipping documentation, and customs processes.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and logistics systems.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end ocean export shipments, including booking, documentation, and transportation arrangements.
• Act as the primary contact for customers, providing shipment updates and resolving operational issues.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of export documentation and invoicing.
• Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, customs authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth shipment execution.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively manage exceptions, claims, and customer inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations and company standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Support customer retention efforts by building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices within the team.
