Job summary

ALPLA INC. is seeking a capable Foreign Trade Operations specialist to handle import/export processes and coordinate with customs brokers and logistics providers.

The role demands strong English skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and documentation accurately. You will work in a dynamic international environment, coordinating with Finance, Planning and Sales teams to ensure timely deliveries and compliant documentation across road, air, and sea freight

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in international trade, business administration, economics, logistics or related fields.
• Experience in import/export operations and international logistics.
• Advanced English for international communication and reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple processes simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Record import orders and track shipments from placement to delivery.
• Coordinate estimated arrival dates with suppliers and logistics providers for road, air and sea.
• Track vessel schedules and shipment status in systems.
• Coordinate payments with Finance and Accounting.
• Obtain and evaluate freight offers and organize transportation per delivery terms.
• Provide weekly updates to Planning on arrivals and delays.
• Manage customs documents and coordinate with brokers during clearance.
• Inform Finance about import duties and follow payment processes.
• Coordinate delivery of cleared goods to relevant plants.
• Check import invoices and raise claims when necessary.
• Organize export shipments and prepare export invoices and shipping documents.
• Coordinate export declarations with customs brokers and send documents to customers.
• Follow up on revisions and inform customers of estimated arrivals.
• Manage Inward Processing Authorization Certificates and communicate with brokers and suppliers.

• Coordinating estimated arrival dates with suppliers and logistics providers for road, air and sea shipments.
• Tracking vessel schedules and shipment status through relevant systems.
• Coordinating advance and deferred payments with Finance and Accounting.
• Obtaining and evaluating freight offers and organizing transportation according to delivery terms.
• Providing weekly updates to Planning on expected arrivals and delays.
• Managing customs documentation and coordinating with customs brokers throughout the clearance process.
• Informing Finance about import duties and following payment processes.
• Coordinating delivery of cleared goods to relevant plants.
• Checking import invoices and raising claims when necessary.

Export Operations

• Organizing road, air and sea transportation according to customer orders, delivery terms and readiness dates.
• Obtaining and evaluating freight offers and coordinating shipments with Sales and Planning.
• Preparing export invoices and required shipping documents.
• Coordinating export declarations and documentation with customs brokers.
• Sending shipping documents and estimated arrival information to customers and managing revisions.
• Arranging courier shipment of original documents and sharing tracking information.
• Checking export invoices and raising claims when necessary.

General Foreign Trade Operations

• Managing application and closure processes of Inward Processing Authorization Certificates (DİİB).
• Maintaining regular communication with customs brokers, suppliers and logistics providers.
