Job summary

El Sewedy Industries Group in Turkey seeks a Senior Technical Office Leader for production engineering in sheet metal fabrication. You will lead a team, establish documentation standards, and ensure smooth handoffs to planning and production.

You will validate designs for manufacturability, oversee ECOs, optimize material yield, and support NPI from prototyping to production clearance. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience and CAD proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing.
• 2–3 years in supervisory/managerial role within Technical Office or similar.
• Strong CAD experience: AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and allocate work across the Technical Office team to hit production lead times.
• Establish engineering documentation standards, version control, and final approval workflows for technical releases.
• Ensure seamless handoffs of drawings, BOMs, and routings to Planning, Production, and Tendering/Commercial teams.
• Validate designs for production line manufacturability across sheet metal processes; generate precise manufacturing instructions and BOMs.
• Oversee ECOs to ensure real-time updates reach the production line without delays.
• Drive nesting strategies to maximize material yield and minimize scrap; provide cost modeling and cycle-time estimates.
• Troubleshoot active production line issues; investigate NCs and implement RCCA; support NPI runs from prototype to production clearance.

Job Responsibility:

1. Departmental Leadership & Workflows
   Lead, mentor, and allocate work across the Technical Office team to hit production lead times.
   Establish engineering documentation standards, version control, and final approval workflows for all
   technical releases.
   Ensure seamless handoffs of drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing routings to Planning, Production, and
   Tendering/Commercial teams.
2. Production Engineering & Technical Execution
   Validate designs for production line manufacturability across sheet metal processes (cutting, punching,
   bending, welding).
   Generate precise production drawings, detailed manufacturing instructions, and exact BOM configurations.
   Oversee Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure real-time updates reach the production line without
   causing delays.
3. Material Yield & Cost Optimization
   Drive sheet nesting strategies and nesting software utilization to maximize raw material yield and minimize
   scrap.
   Provide cost modeling, cycle-time estimations, and technical inputs to the Costing and Commercial teams
   for bidding and quotes.
   Execute value-engineering projects to optimize material thickness, structural integrity, and unit costs.
4. Production Line Support & Quality Control
   Troubleshoot active production line issues, providing quick engineering fixes to eliminate rework.
   Work with Quality to investigate non-conformities (NCs) and implement permanent Root Cause Corrective
   Actions (RCCA).
   Support New Product Introduction (NPI) runs from initial prototyping to full production clearance.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including solid experience in sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a Technical Office, Manufacturing
  Engineering, or similar function.
• Strong practical knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, including cutting, punching, bending,
  welding, and assembly.
• Strong experience in technical drawings, BOM preparation, manufacturing routings, and engineering
  documentation.
• Good understanding of product costing, material utilization, scrap reduction, and value engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
