Job summary

Açık Holding, through Boreas Technology, seeks a Mechanical Design & HVAC Systems Team Lead to drive design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of HVAC and cooling products. You will lead a cross-functional team across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to deliver data center and critical infrastructure solutions.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design & HVAC Systems Team Lead who can combine strong engineering expertise with leadership and product development experience to drive the development of HVAC, precision cooling, and thermal management technologies.

This role will be responsible for leading the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of Boreas Tech's HVAC and cooling product portfolio, with a particular focus on data center cooling solutions, precision cooling systems, air handling units (AHUs), and mission-critical climate control applications.

The position will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work closely with Electrical & Automation, Project Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, and HVAC equipment design/calculation
• Experience in leading engineering teams, making technical decisions, and coordinating engineering projects
• Experience in at least one of the following areas:

• Precision cooling and data center cooling solutions
• Air Handling Units (AHUs) and ventilation systems
• Industrial or commercial HVAC applications

• Strong knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling, technical drawings, and engineering documentation
• Knowledge of sheet metal design, welded structures, aluminium and plastic component design, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles
• Familiarity with BOM management, ERP systems, and engineering change processes
• Good command of English, both written and spoken
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and team coordination skills

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and product development team responsible for HVAC and cooling solutions
• Manage product design activities from concept development through mass production
• Develop thermal management solutions for data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities, and other critical infrastructure applications
• Ensure the preparation and maintenance of 3D models, technical drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation
• Perform technical evaluation, sizing, and selection of HVAC components such as fans, coils, heat exchangers, and related equipment
• Conduct thermal performance, airflow, and energy efficiency analyses
• Lead prototype development, laboratory testing, and product validation activities; analyze results and implement improvements
• Drive product standardization, modular design initiatives, and continuous improvement projects
• Coordinate technical activities with Electrical & Automation, Project Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
• Lead design reviews and support critical engineering decision-making processes
• Contribute to engineering process improvement initiatives, patent applications, utility model development, and R&D projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data center cooling systems such as CRAC, CRAH, InRow, FanWall, Rear Door Cooler, and CDU
• Knowledge of AHU performance criteria, as well as Eurovent, EN, and IEC standards
• Experience in product testing, performance validation, and engineering reporting
• Experience with patents, utility models, or intellectual property activities
