Job summary

Tototheo Maritime Ltd. seeks a maritime IT and Satcom support specialist to ensure reliable operation of satellite communication, networking, and IT systems aboard vessels.

You will monitor, troubleshoot, configure, and maintain Starlink, VSAT, Iridium, and FleetBroadband along with Fortinet infrastructure and Linux servers. The role requires 24/7/365 rotating shift coverage, strong English communication, and a proactive approach to incident management and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in IT, CS, Telecommunications or a related technical field.
• Experience in technical/IT support, networking, telecommunications, or Satcom.
• Strong TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of satellite communication systems and maritime connectivity solutions.
• Familiarity with firewalls, routers, managed switches, wireless access points, and monitoring tools.
• Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and troubleshooting.
• Cybersecurity principles, VPNs, and firewall policies.
• Experience with Fortinet products or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Clear written and spoken English communication.
• Customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Ability to prioritize multiple incidents in a 24/7 rotating schedule.
• Continuous learning in Satcom and maritime IT.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot Satcom, hardware, software, network, and maritime services.
• Monitor satellite connectivity and service performance to identify outages and issues.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Fortinet infrastructure (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP).
• Configure, maintain Linux-based servers, apps, services, and network configurations.
• Perform remote diagnostics, configuration changes, upgrades, testing, and maintenance.
• Assist vessel crews and customers with technical troubleshooting until resolution.
• Research issues using internal docs, vendor resources, and other sources.
• Track, prioritize, and manage incidents within agreed service levels.
• Escalate unresolved or critical incidents to internal teams, providers, or vendors.
• Coordinate with operators, providers, crews, and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Provide timely and accurate updates to customers during resolution.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, changes, and resolutions.
• Install, commission, configure, and test Satcom, network, IT equipment.
• Identify obsolete hardware/software and recommend upgrades or replacements.
• Apply cybersecurity best practices to vessel networks and remote access.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and high service standards.
• Keep current knowledge of maritime Satcom, networking, Linux, Fortinet, and cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of service.
• Provide 24/7/365 rotating shift support.
