Job description

Avesoro Resources is a gold-focused mining company committed to operational excellence, sustainability, and continuous improvement. We are seeking a Logistics Operations Specialist responsible for coordinating end-to-end import logistics, customs compliance, port operations, and inland transportation activities to ensure that cargo is handled safely, efficiently, in compliance with regulations, and in a cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive import files from the Istanbul Logistics Team and ensure that shipment documents are complete and accurate before customs clearance.
  • Submit complete files to Everette Customs Brokerage Company and follow up on missing documents with the Türkiye Logistics Team.
  • Record all shipments in the Operations Tracking (OT) system and maintain accurate and up-to-date ERP and OT records throughout the import process.
  • Evaluate EPA and SR requirements for each shipment and coordinate the related application processes.
  • Review INF documents, coordinate MOCI approvals, and resolve documentation issues.
  • Prepare shipments for Med-Tech applications and coordinate applications, responses, and payments.
  • Follow up on CRF issuance, tax exemption eligibility, applications, and approval processes.
  • Follow up on Assessment Notice, SAD, and Compliance Check processes and coordinate customs broker activities.
  • Ensure that customs documentation complies with company rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare documentation related to tax payments, coordinate customs payments with the Finance Department, and follow up on completion of payments.
  • Update key shipment milestones, ensure data accuracy and document traceability, and report delayed approvals, critical files, and customs clearance delays to management.
  • Support KPI reporting and operational analysis.
  • Verify completion of import processes, close files in ERP and OT systems, and hand over completed files and documentation to Port Operations.
  • Coordinate Delivery Order (DO), Terminal Delivery Order (TDO), and release processes and resolve related issues with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with sea carriers, air carriers, Port Authority, and terminal operators.
  • Prioritize shipments according to operational urgency, cargo type, and vehicle availability.
  • Plan inland transportation and shipment activities and coordinate transportation of cargo from the port to the destination.
  • Plan driver assignments and shift schedules and coordinate fleet availability with HME, HSE, and transportation service providers.
  • Follow up on vehicle operational readiness, maintenance, daily checklists, and turnaround cycles.
  • Coordinate heavy lift, Out of Gauge (OOG), and IMDG cargo.
  • Review Survey and Inspection reports and technical drawings, coordinate related activities and technical support, and manage escort requirements (EPA, LEC, Joint Security, Police).
  • Check cargo securing and lashing before movement.
  • Participate in operational planning meetings with port and terminal representatives and monitor critical shipments and convoy movements when required.
  • Coordinate accident response activities, immediately inform HSE, management, and relevant authorities, and coordinate police, insurance, and carrier documentation.
  • Prepare incident notification reports.
  • Monitor demurrage, container detention, waiting, and transportation risks.
  • Follow up on Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, transportation costs, and fleet efficiency.
  • Verify operational invoices before Finance processing.
  • Keep the Port Operations Tracking Sheet up to date and prepare Daily Inland Transportation and Logistics Activity Reports.
  • Identify operational improvements and corrective actions and report them to the supervisor.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferably 3–5 years of experience in logistics operations, import, customs clearance, port, or transportation.
  • Experience in preparing and following up import and shipment documentation.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of import, customs clearance, and logistics operations.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, tax exemption, and official permit processes.
  • Knowledge of port, terminal, and inland transportation operations.
  • Basic knowledge of heavy lift, Out of Gauge (OOG), and IMDG cargo operations.
  • Ability to effectively use ERP and Operations Tracking systems.
  • Good command of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to perform operational reporting, cost tracking, and data analysis.
  • Strong planning, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple operations simultaneously.
  • Analytical thinking and solution-oriented approach.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate across departments.
  • Ability to adapt to a busy and dynamic working environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in port, terminal, customs clearance, or inland transportation operations.
  • Knowledge of EPA, SR, INF, MOCI, Med-Tech, and tax exemption application processes.
  • Experience in heavy lift, Out of Gauge cargo, and dangerous goods transportation operations.
  • Knowledge of demurrage, container detention, storage, and transportation cost tracking.
  • Experience in Survey and Inspection, escort, insurance, and incident management processes.
  • Awareness of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.

Language

  • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
