Job summary

Avolta is seeking an experienced Logistics & Customs Specialist based at İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport to ensure accurate, compliant customs operations for Türkiye Duty Free. You will manage declarations, import operations, bonded warehouse activities, and inventory reporting with regulators and internal teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least five years in customs or logistics, along with strong SAP and MS Office skills and English proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Customs, Economics, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customs operations, import/export processes, logistics operations, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Customs Laws and Regulations, customs declaration processes, and international trade documentation.
  • Experience within Duty Free operations, bonded warehouse environments, logistics, or international trade will be considered an advantage.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment.
  • Preferably proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Advanced SAP knowledge with strong transaction management, reporting, and data analysis across relevant modules.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and customs-related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customs clearance processes for imported goods and ensure timely completion of all related procedures.
  • Prepare, review, submit, and register customs declarations related to import, bonded warehouse, transit, and summary declarations.
  • Prepare, control, and maintain customs documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, permits, licenses, and other supporting documents.
  • Review and distribute documentation from storage facilities to the relevant departments.
  • Follow up on permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals required for imported products.
  • Coordinate customs-related activities with Customs Authorities, airport authorities, and other regulators.
  • Create and maintain system records related to product receipts, purchase orders, inventory movements, and transactions.
  • Manage inventory movements between bonded warehouses, distribution facilities, and duty-free stores in compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare inventory reports, reconciliations, and statutory reports for Customs and regulators.
  • Support customs audits, inspections, and stock counts with required documentation.
  • Prepare discrepancy reports for damaged or missing products and ensure accurate records.
  • Monitor guarantee letters, payments, and customs-related financial transactions.
  • Maintain all customs records and documentation per legal and company procedures.
  • Manage invoicing, payment follow-up, advance payment processes, and related records.
  • Prepare reports for inventory counts, reconciliations, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and drive continuous improvement for compliance and efficiency.
  • Coordinate customs and regulatory processes for store and warehouse openings, relocations, or refurbishments.

We are looking for an experienced candidate to join our team as a Logistics & Customs Specialist. This position is based at İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To ensure the accurate and compliant execution of all customs-related operations within Türkiye Duty Free business in accordance with Customs Laws and Regulations, Duty Free Shop legislation, and company policies and procedures. The role is responsible for managing customs declarations, import operations, bonded warehouse activities, inventory reporting, transit procedures, and warehouse-to-store transfers, ensuring all activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage customs clearance processes for imported goods and ensure the timely completion of all related official procedures.
  • Prepare, review, submit, and register customs declarations related to import, bonded warehouse, transit, and summary declaration processes.
  • Prepare, control, and maintain customs documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, permits, licenses, and other supporting documents.
  • Review and distribute documentation received from temporary storage facilities and other operational points to the relevant departments.
  • Follow up on permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals required for imported products.
  • Coordinate customs-related activities with Customs Authorities, airport authorities, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Create and maintain system records related to product receipts, purchase orders, inventory movements, and operational transactions.
  • Manage and monitor inventory movements between bonded warehouses, distribution facilities, and duty free stores in compliance with customs regulations and company standards.
  • Prepare inventory reports, reconciliations, and statutory reports required by Customs Authorities and other regulatory institutions.
  • Support customs audits, official inspections, and stock counts by preparing and providing the required documentation and records.
  • Prepare discrepancy reports for damaged or missing products and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Monitor guarantee letters, official payments, and customs-related financial transactions.
  • Ensure that all customs records and documentation are maintained, archived, and retained in accordance with legal requirements and company procedures.
  • Manage invoicing, payment follow-up, advance payment processes, and related financial records.
  • Prepare reports and supporting documentation required for inventory counts, reconciliations, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to ensure the seamless execution of operational activities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and support continuous improvement initiatives to maintain full compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate and execute customs and regulatory processes related to store and warehouse openings, relocations, refurbishment projects, and permit requirements.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
