Job summary

CMA CGM Istanbul is hiring an Inventory & Equipment Supervisor to lead the team and oversee equipment availability, container movements, and cost-effective operations. You will coordinate with commercial, customer service, operations and external partners across the region.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong data analysis, and collaboration across stakeholders. Hybrid work arrangement with 4 days in Istanbul office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Transportation, Business Administration, or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years in shipping, container equipment management, logistics or related field is expected.
• Experience in leading a team and managing costs is a strong plus.
• Strong knowledge of equipment management, container flow optimization, and inventory control processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across functions and partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Inventory & Equipment team to drive performance and excellence.
• Optimize equipment availability, inventory levels, and container flows to support business needs.
• Monitor forecasts, stock movements, and booking trends to anticipate requirements.
• Oversee depot service providers and equipment deployment, including on-hire/off-hire activity.
• Provide regular performance reports and insights to support decision-making.

As an Inventory & Equipment Supervisor, you will lead inventory and equipment management activities to ensure optimal equipment availability, efficient container flows, and cost-effective operations across the assigned geographical area. Reporting directly to the Inventory & Equipment Manager, you will manage a team, drive operational performance, and collaborate closely with commercial, customer service, operations, and external partners to support business objectives.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the Inventory & Equipment team, ensuring high performance and operational excellence.
• Optimize equipment availability, inventory levels, and container flows to support business and commercial needs.
• Monitor equipment forecasts, stock movements, and booking trends to anticipate operational requirements.
• Oversee empty container repositioning, equipment deployment, and on-hire/off-hire activities.
• Track equipment utilization and container visibility, driving actions to improve asset productivity.
• Manage equipment-related costs, including storage, transportation, depot, and repositioning expenses.
• Oversee depot service providers, procurement activities, and the implementation of pick-up/drop-off policies.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, depots, vendors, and customers.
• Identify operational improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, service quality, and cost performance.
• Provide regular performance reporting and operational insights to support decision-making and business objectives.

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping, container equipment management, logistics, supply chain, inventory management, or a related operational environment.
• Previous team management or supervisory experience is considered a strong plus.
• Strong knowledge of equipment management, container flow optimization, and inventory control processes.
• Proven ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and drive business decisions.
• Experience in managing operational costs and implementing efficiency improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to collaborate across functions and external partners.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken. Regular communication with regional and international stakeholders is required, and part of the interview process will be conducted in English.
• Ability to work 4 days per week from our Istanbul office (hybrid working model).
