Job summary

Porte is seeking a Global Operations Specialist to join the Shippn team in Istanbul. This role supports shipment planning, order coordination, and 3PL collaboration, with a focus on efficiency and cost control.

The position requires strong English, negotiation and communication skills, plus hands-on experience in logistics, e-commerce, or startup environments. Hybrid or remote options are available for candidates based in Istanbul.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business required.
• Proficient MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
• English fluency is mandatory; another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Arrange shipment of goods to customers, manage customer requests (quotations, orders, payments, after-sale...).
• Develop relations with new customers and service providers; offer guidance and alternatives.
• Ensure order details comply with legal requirements; coordinate between e-commerce sites, customers, and 3PLs; monitor customs clearance and deliveries.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues; manage returns and costs.
• Monitor service performance and drive process improvements to reduce costs.

Work Schedule & Flexibility

• Shift Schedule: The role operates on a shift-based working schedule, including Day (10:30 AM – 07:30 PM), Evening (03:00 PM – 12:00 AM), and Night (12:00 AM – 09:00 AM) shifts.
• Flexibility Requirement: Working hours and shift assignments may vary depending on operational needs. Candidates must be flexible and able to adapt to all three shifts as required.
• Work Model: Hybrid or Remote options are available for candidates based in Istanbul (Beşiktaş/Akatlar).

Main Responsibilities:

• Arrange shipment of goods to customer, manages and processes customers’ requests (quotations, orders, purchase assistance, payments, after-sale...),
• Reaching to new customers and service providers and developing relations. Provide basic guidance on features and benefits, offer alternatives if needed,
• Check order details to ensure compliance with legal requirements. Close follow-up of orders from and to all origins/destinations with customers & service providers, co-ordinate between e-commerce sites and customers, identify changes in requirements and demand. Follow ups customs clearance and delivery processes, monitor customer payments and manage returns,
• Receive customer complaints, solving problems in critical daily issues and managing exceptions,
• Provide correct and full information to 3PLs and solves operational issues, analyzes 3PL performance, tracks invoices, creates cost studies and reports for the services received, assures accuracy, follow ups operational expenses. Perform discrepancy management for damaged and lost goods,
• Monitors service performance and identifies opportunities to improve service and/or reduce cost. Analyzes opportunities, develops recommendations and implements process improvements that deliver results.

Requirements

• MSc or BSc in a relevant field (preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business).
• Advanced MS Excel skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Fluency in English is a must (second language is an advantage).
• 2+ years of relevant experience in start-up ecosystem, e-commerce, customer service, supply chain, or logistics; knowledge of the Harmonised Tariff System (GTIP).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Eager to learn, flexible, open-minded, and team-oriented.
