Job summary

Talentra seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and lead the finance team in Istanbul, Turkey. You will ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with local regulations, US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical accounting expertise, strong controls, and the ability to partner with senior management to drive improvements and reliable reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years in accounting and finance with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of local regulations, US GAAP, and IFRS.
• Hands-on experience in financial reporting, GL, tax, and month-end close.
• SAP Finance and MS Office, especially Excel.
• SOX compliance understanding.
• Leadership and development of accounting teams.
• Process improvement and standardization of procedures.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion of financial activities.
• Lead and coordinate the accounting team, overseeing workload distribution, performance, and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, US GAAP, IFRS, internal policies, and SOX requirements.
• Manage monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting within deadlines.
• Review general ledger entries, journal postings, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity and accurate recording of assets and liabilities.
• Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoice verification and reconciliations.
• Coordinate local tax compliance activities, statutory filings, and related documentation.
• Maintain effective internal controls and financial authorization policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, preparing schedules and documentation.
• Identify financial risks, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement to optimize workflows and standardize procedures.
• Prepare financial analyses, reports, and management updates for decisions.
• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and align with objectives.
• Support implementation of new financial systems and reporting requirements.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
