Job summary

Diageo Istanbul Head Office seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to lead expense accounting in a fast-moving FMCG setting. You will coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, review GL accounts, and ensure alignment with Turkish statutory requirements and internal policies.

The role requires 5–8 years in accounting/finance, strong Turkish GAAP knowledge, and hands-on close experience, with English communication skills for multinational collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5–8 years of accounting, financial reporting, or similar finance roles.
• Experience in FMCG, consumer goods, manufacturing, or high-volume environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish statutory accounting practices.
• Hands-on experience in general accounting and month-year end close processes.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals and provisions.
• Big Four audit experience is an advantage.
• Professional qualifications (CPA/ACCA/SMMM) are an advantage.
• Experience in multinational/global organizations preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead expense accounting processes in a high-volume, dynamic FMCG environment.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities and ensure timely, accurate completion.
• Review general ledger accounts, journal entries, accruals, provisions and other adjustments.
• Ensure transactions comply with local statutory requirements and policies.
• Prepare and review reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.
• Support leases, intercompany transactions, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Identify issues and escalate to senior management as needed.
• Support monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting processes.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and local regulations.
