Job summary

Rönesans Holding, a leading contractor and investor, seeks an Environmental & Social Expert to drive EIA/ESIA work on infrastructure, energy and industrial projects across Türkiye. Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering (Master’s preferred) with 7+ years in E&S management, familiar with IFC/EBRD standards; ability to lead cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in environmental and social management.
• 6+ years of experience in environmental/social planning for large-scale energy/utilities projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in Environmental Consultancy, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, and project-related mitigation and due diligence.
• In-depth knowledge of international standards such as EBRD’s Environment and Social Policy, EIB’s Standards, and Equator Principles.
• Experience working with International Funding Agencies (IFC, EBRD, etc.), Project Owners, and lenders' technical/social advisors.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as with internal and external clients.
• Strong project management skills, including prioritization and risk containment.

Responsibilities

• Implement EIA requirements for Infrastructure, Industrial, Energy/Utilities Projects.
• Prepare, review, or provide support on Environmental Due Diligence Studies, ESIA reports, and Gap Analysis.
• Provide expert assistance in reviewing environmental documents during ESIA studies.
• Support internal and external communication via various channels (website, intranet, presentations, workshops, newsletters, social media).
• Apply knowledge of environmental/social legislation and Turkish and international standards/regulations.
• Undertake site visits; review and monitor environmental and social documentation.
• Lead cross-functional teams, produce timelines, manage commitments, and compile reports.
• Participate in site audits and meetings with lender's environmental adviser; support project and group companies.
• Monitor and evaluate metrics for ES strategy implementation and compliance.

What You’ll Do?

• Implement Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) requirements for Infrasutructure, Industrial, Energy/Utilities Projects.
• Prepare, review, or provide support on Environmental Due Diligence Studies, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Reports (ESIA), Gap Analysis, Compliance reports,
• Provide expert assistance in reviewing/screening documents during environmental impact assessment studies.
• Support internal and external communication via various channels such as the website, intranet, presentations, workshops, newsletters, social media, video, etc.
• Apply knowledge and understanding of environmental/social legislation and both Turkish and international standards/regulations.
• Undertake site visits; review and monitor environmental and social documentation.
• Excellent communication and project management skills are required, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, produce and maintain timelines, manage multiple commitments, and assemble project information into clear, concise written reports.
• Participate in site audits and meetings alongside the lender's environmental and social advisor for credit projects, providing support to the relevant project and group companies.
• Monitor, analyze, and evaluate metrics that measure the effectiveness of Environmental and Social Strategy implementation and overall compliance, provide updates to leadership, and determine the best path forward.

What We Expect from You?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree from an accredited university is preferred.
• Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in environmental and social management, providing expert technical and legal support.
• At least 6+ years of professional experience in environmental/social planning for large-scale energy/utilities projects (e.g., infrastructure projects like railways and motorways, industrial projects, wind and solar energy projects).
• Demonstrated expertise in Environmental Consultancy, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, and project-related mitigation and due diligence.
• In-depth knowledge of international standards such as EBRD’s Environment and Social Policy, EIB’s Statement of Environmental and Social Principles and Standards, and the Equator Principles.
• Experience working with International Funding Agencies (IFC, EBRD, etc.), Project Owners, and lenders' technical/social advisors.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as with internal and external clients.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues, manage scope, and contain risks.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
