Job summary

AVL Research & Engineering in Istanbul, Turkey, seeks a mechanical/automotive engineer with 3+ years of design experience to join their vehicle and powertrain teams. You will design components, create CAD models, and produce documentation to support certification and manufacturing. English fluency is required; German is a plus.

The role emphasizes on-site work with cross-functional stakeholders and a strong focus on Design For Manufacturing and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in system and component design of vehicles and/or powertrains in the automotive industry
• Experience with Catia V6/V5 CAD tools for at least two years including technical drawings
• Knowledge of DFM (Design for manufacturing)
• Fluent English (German would be a plus)

Responsibilities

• Design of powertrain and vehicle components; including their integration into commercial vehicle platforms.
• Creation of component models and preperation of technical drawings.
• Preparation of component quality documentation (boundary diagrams, P diagrams, robustness check lists, FMEAs and test plans).
• Assessment of test and simulation results and defining next steps.
• Plans and formulates own workflow and that of others to meet specified deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
• On site examination of new vehicle builds and/or new powertrain builds for compliance with then current design and communicate with stakeholders for required design changes.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in system and component design of vehicles and/or powertrains in the automotive industry
• Working experience with Catia V6/V5 CAD tools for at least two years including technical drawings
• Knowledge of DFM (Design for manufacturing)
• Fluent speaking and excellent writing skills in English (German would be a plus)
