Job summary

Pegasus Airlines is seeking a Backend Developer (Full Stack) to build and maintain scalable backend services in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

You will collaborate with Product, Web, Mobile, QA, DevOps, and other teams in an Agile setup, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and cloud technologies.

A passion for clean code, testing, and continuous learning will help you contribute to Pegasus' digital flight experience.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of professional backend development experience.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and backward compatibility is a plus.
• Understanding of OOP, SOLID, design patterns, and clean code.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch).
• Familiarity with Redis caching is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, Docker.
• AI-assisted development with Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot is a plus.
• Agile team collaboration with Product, Web, Mobile, QA, DevOps.

Requirements

• Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.Team Player: Eager to learn, with a customer-first mindset, good communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a sense of ownership.
• Experience: 2–4 years of professional backend development experience, with hands-on experience developing and maintaining backend applications and services.
• Backend Development & Java: Good knowledge of Java and hands-on experience with Spring Boot. Familiarity with dependency injection, application configuration, exception handling, and common backend development practices.
• API Development & Integration: Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs. Understanding of request validation, error handling, API documentation, and service integration. Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and backward compatibility is a plus.
• Software Engineering & Testing: Good understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean code practices. Experience writing unit tests and familiarity with integration testing, refactoring, and code reviews.
• Databases & Data Management: Experience with at least one relational or NoSQL database, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch. Basic understanding of data modeling and query optimization. Familiarity with caching technologies such as Redis is a plus.
• Microservices & Messaging: Basic understanding of microservices and distributed application concepts. Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is a plus.
• Performance, Reliability & Security: Understanding of basic application performance optimization and secure coding practices. Willingness to learn about application monitoring, production troubleshooting, and common security practices.
• CI/CD & Development Tools: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and automated build and deployment processes. Basic knowledge of Docker is a plus.
• AI-Assisted Development: Experience using AI-powered tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot to support coding, debugging, testing, and refactoring. Ability to review and validate AI-generated code.
• Agile Mindset: Comfortable working in an Agile team and collaborating with Product, Web, Mobile, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, Kubernetes, serverless computing, and event-driven architectures. Interest in MCP, AI agents, and agentic software development is a plus. Willingness to contribute to mobile application development, with experience or interest in Kotlin (Android) or Swift (iOS), is an advantage. Experience with high-traffic applications, particularly in travel, airline, e-commerce, or other transaction-intensive domains, is also a plus.
