Job summary

The Magnum Ice Cream Company is seeking an Assistant Manager Financial Controller for the Controlling Team in Turkey. This role offers exposure to financial controls, accounting, reporting, and risk management with a focus on ensuring robust financial processes.

You will work closely with the local team and external auditors to maintain high standards. The successful candidate will have IFRS knowledge, strong communication skills, and proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in independent financial audit with financial reporting.
• Accounting and IFRS knowledge are essential.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent in English; Turkish language required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely financial reporting for group and local statutory needs.
• Coordinate daily operations with 3rd party accounting and tax teams.
• Perform variance analysis on financial statements.
• Support month-end close activities and deadlines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Reconcile GL accounts and maintain control records.

The role

Are you up for a challenge and ready to take your finance career to the next level? We are recruiting for the role of Assistant Manager Financial Controller for the Controlling Team. In this role you will have the unique opportunity to gain experience in financial controls, accounting & reporting, and separation & establishment as well. A truly special opportunity! Assistant Manager Financial Controller plays a key role in Turkey financial controlling team covering financial accounting and reporting, risk management and control, internal & external assurance and has a wide range of responsibilities.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Accounting & Reporting

• Work on accurate and timely financial reporting for both group and local statutory reporting.
• Execute daily operations in collaboration with 3rd party accounting and tax teams as well as external audit teams.
• Perform variance analysis and analytical review on financial statements.
• Be the part of month-end closing activities in line with deadlines by proactive planning and communicating with stakeholders.
• Contribute to a broad range of other financial controlling & accounting activities and projects.
• Perform GL account reconciliations in line with the control requirements.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams.
  

Risk Management & Controls

• Follow the risk management agenda, work on high‑quality risk assessments.
• Understand root causes of issues and identify where controls are not operating and work on remediation through relevant business leaders and wider Controlling Team.
• Ensure that the Global Financial Controls Framework is embedded and operating in line with the agreed global model.
• Maintain and enforce relevant local authority schedules.
• Participate in Control Health Indicators (CHI) meetings and providing expertise & support.
  

Financial Processes

• Deploy the global financial process efficiency programs in the market.
• Eliminate, simplify, automate and/or centralise transactional activities.
  

Internal & External Assurance

• Liaise with Corporate Audit & work on any follow up actions.
• Collaborate with external auditors during the audit processes.
• Implement required standards of risk control and maintain insurance against risks specified in the Global Insurance & Risk Control Standard.
  

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Minimum 4 years of experience (Independent financial audit background along with financial reporting is preferable)
• Accounting and IFRS knowledge are must
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office; ERP systems (Preferably SAP) experience is a plus
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Critical and independent thinking
• Ability to perform under time pressure
• Problem‑solving skills, ability to make reliable and objective judgments and conclusions
• Turkish language and advanced English are must
