We are expanding our team and seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant in Materials Failure Investigation. The successful candidate will:
Note: Level of appointment (Consultant vs. Senior Consultant) will be determined based on the candidate’s education, industry experience, and demonstrated technical competency.
Education: Master’s degree in Material Science and Engineering plus ≥3 years’ relevant industry experience; or
PhD in Materials Science and Engineering (fresh graduates encouraged to apply for the senior consultant position); Bachelor’s degree with extensive, directly relevant experience also considered.
Technical Expertise: Proven expertise in engineering materials—including metals, alloys, polymers, and ceramics—combined with a deep understanding of material failure modes and mechanisms, and proficiency in material testing techniques as well as interpretation of test results. Skilled in fractographic analysis to identify crack initiation sites and map propagation paths.
Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
Communication: Excellent written and oral English; additional fluency in Chinese, Malay, or Bahasa is advantageous, as the candidate needs to conduct frequent site visits in Malaysia, Indonesia and China and communicate with customers in these countries.
Adaptability: Comfortable working under pressure, managing multiple assignments, and travelling on short notice.
