Job summary

IET PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Youth Mentor to provide mentoring and behavioural support to at-risk youths aged 12-18 within school and community settings.

The role focuses on improving attendance and engagement, managing discipline, and developing emotional regulation and conflict-resolution skills. You will collaborate with teachers to tailor interventions and maintain case records while upholding a compassionate, patient approach.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work, or related Social Science field preferred
• At least 3 years of experience working with youths aged 12-18 in schools, residential homes, or community centres
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
• Relevant youth support certifications preferred
• Strong communication, mentoring, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills
• Patient, compassionate, and able to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally

Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide at-risk students facing attendance, behavioural, and emotional challenges to improve their school engagement
• Manage student discipline by conducting school patrols, investigations, detention, and reflection sessions to maintain a safe learning environment
• Facilitate individual and group activities that develop emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and positive behaviour skills
• Support students returning from suspension or prolonged absence by collaborating with teachers to implement tailored interventions
• Maintain detailed student case records, monitor progress, and prepare reports on engagement and intervention outcomes
