Job summary

Nanyang Technological University Singapore is seeking an Engineer to lead the scale-up of vanadium redox flow battery stacks from lab to commercial systems. The role bridges R&D, testing, and production to enable smooth deployment at large scale.

The candidate will develop, assemble, and validate stack designs through structured testing, durability studies, and failure analysis, and work closely with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure production-readiness and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in electrochemical stack development.
• Experience with VRFB stacks, fuel cells, or similar systems.
• Experience manufacturing, assembly, testing, and process development.
• Strong DFM, stack assembly, sealing, leak prevention, and quality inspection.
• Experience with Engineering Change Requests and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead scale-up of VRFB stacks from lab to commercial scale.
• Develop, assemble, validate stack designs through testing and durability studies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure production-readiness and cost-effectiveness.
• Establish test rigs, SOPs, and quality benchmarks; use data to drive improvements.
