Job summary

NTU's Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) seeks a Senior Research Fellow to lead vanadium redox flow battery stack development from pilot to commercial scale. You will bridge R&D, testing and production, collaborating with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure scalable, cost-effective designs.

Applicants should have advanced degrees in mechanical/chemical/electrochemical/material disciplines and hands-on experience in electrochemical stacks, durability testing, and data-driven design

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical engineering/chemical/electrochemical/material, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of hands-on electrochemical stack development experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of stack scaling, assembly, and performance testing.
• Experience with durability testing and data-driven design improvement.
• Ability to work across R&D, manufacturing, and testing teams in a scale-up or pilot-to-commercial environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead vanadium redox flow battery stacks development from prototype to commercial scale while ensuring performance and reliability.
• Develop, assemble, and validate stack designs through structured testing, durability studies, and failure analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure designs are production-ready and cost-effective.
• Establish test rigs, SOPs, and quality benchmarks, and use performance data to drive continuous design improvement.
