Job description

You will join a lean, high-performing game team driven by technology and product excellence. You will help shape combat presentation, system feedback, UI motion, and reward sequences while contributing to the development of a modern real-time VFX production pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement combat VFX, environmental effects, system feedback, and UI motion in Unity.
  • Create real-time effects for character abilities, attacks, hit reactions, status effects, environmental interactions, and scene ambience, ensuring they align with gameplay logic and the project’s art direction.
  • Design clear visual feedback for warnings, areas of effect, hits, damage, buffs, and debuffs, balancing visual impact with combat readability.
  • Create UI motion for screen transitions, pop-ups, buttons, numerical changes, rewards, upgrades, unlocks, and monetization-related presentations.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate interaction intent and visual designs into motion that is clear, natural, and engaging.
  • Use Unity’s Particle System, Animator, Animation, Timeline, materials, and shaders to build, debug, integrate, and optimize effects.
  • Work closely with game designers, animators, technical artists, and client engineers to review and validate effects on target devices while managing performance costs such as particle counts, overdraw, draw calls, textures, and materials.
  • Establish production standards, asset-naming conventions, and reusable templates for VFX and UI motion, overseeing the full workflow from requirements and production through integration and on-device validation.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in game VFX, real-time motion design, or a related role, with experience contributing to a complete game project or major game release.
  • Strong proficiency in Unity, with the ability to independently take in-game VFX and UI motion from concept and design through final implementation in the engine.
  • Proficiency with Unity’s Particle System, Animator, Animation, Timeline, material system, and fundamental shader principles.
  • Strong foundations in animation and visual design, with a solid understanding of timing, easing, composition, colour, shape language, and information hierarchy.
  • A strong understanding of game feedback design and mobile performance constraints, with the ability to balance visual quality, clarity, and runtime efficiency.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A portfolio containing captured footage of in-game work, clearly stating your responsibilities and implementation approach.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working on action, RPG, strategy, simulation, casual, or live-service mobile games.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Shader Graph, After Effects, Spine, Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or Houdini.
  • Experience with basic C#, Unity Editor tools, AI-assisted production, or VFX pipeline development.
