Job summary

HAPAG-LLOYD PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Vessel Capacity Planner to optimize allocations across trades and regions. You will work with ship planners, pricing teams and operations to improve vessel utilization and reduce costs while maintaining service reliability.

The role requires 4–5 years in vessel/capacity planning, proficiency with FIS, Qlik and MS Office, and a strong analytical mindset. Flexible hours and collaboration across regions are expected.

Qualifications

• Operational background with Vessel/Capacity Planning experience.
• 4–5 years in Vessel/Capacity Planning or similar role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HL applications (FIS, Qlik).
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Analytical, systematic and efficient way of working.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to own tasks and responsibilities.
• Flexible working times including holidays/weekends.
• Experience dealing with multiple stakeholder groups.
• Knowledge of Hapag-Lloyd’s global product offering (Network & Partners).

Responsibilities

• Allocate and manage vessel capacity and trades.
• Increase profitability and vessel utilization; minimize costs.
• Coordinate with ship planners on space and operational constraints.
• Collaborate with QSCs on vessel balancing and PTO topics.
• Work with TM Pricing & Steering on bookings and market trends.
• Align with Area Commercial Steering on market developments.
• Forecast voyage utilization and booking developments.
• Handle special cargo approvals with planners/partners.
• Communicate contingency measures to reduce customer frustration.
• Support cost avoidance through proactive adjustments.
• Ensure baselines are maintained and adjusted per service realities.
• Challenge overbooking adherence and prioritization rules.
