Job summary

Quanteam Singapore is seeking a Production Engineer to ensure availability, reliability and scalability of mission-critical payment platforms. The role centers on Unix/Linux administration, with responsibilities spanning HA, load balancing, server setup and middleware configuration.

You will work closely with the payments production team in Switzerland to monitor, automate, and troubleshoot to keep systems resilient and performing under incident conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 3-6 years hands-on experience in production support of payment systems, DevOps or application operations.
• Expert-level Unix/Linux. Real system administration, tuning and troubleshooting, with advanced shell scripting.
• Strong hands-on Docker. Building, deploy and debugging containers in production, evidenced at role level.
• Hands-on experience with high availability and load balancing in production environments.
• Solid database skills: SQL, query investigation and performance troubleshooting.
• Advantageous: VOLPAY, payments rails (instant payments, ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX), Jenkins, Ansible, GitLab CI, Kafka, RabbitMQ, REST APIs

Responsibilities

• Operate and support the payment platform at an advanced Unix/Linux system level, with strong shellscripting and automation.
• Set up and maintain high availability: clustering, failover, redundancy.
• Configure and operate load balancing across application nodes, and validate behaviour under failure.
• Install, configure and commission the servers and middleware that host the payment applications.
• Keep the platform running through incidents: isolate the faulty component, fail over, restore service, then find the root cause.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents (log analysis, performance tuning, process recovery).
• Build, deploy and orchestrate containers with Docker.
• Maintain, configure and tune web and application servers (Apache, NGINX or equivalent).
• Streamline deployment with CI/CD pipelines, using XLDeploy and Nexus for artifact management.
• Ensure application and system monitoring through Splunk or Dynatrace.
• Analyse and resolve level 3 tickets on the payment stream.
• Proactively propose and implement continuous improvements: resilience, automation, incident reduction, SRE practices.

UNIX L3 Production Support / High Availability

Main Mission

We are looking for a ProductionEngineer to ensure the availability, reliability and scalability of the mission-criticalpayment platforms (instant payments, SWIFT, cross-border).

This is a high-level productionsupport role, and the core of it is Unix. The person will not only monitorand: they will set up high availability, configure load balancing,install and commission servers, and keep the platform up when something goeswrong, working at system level on Unix/Linux.

The role works hand in hand with thecross-border payments production team in Switzerland.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on Docker. Building,deployand debugging containers in production, evidenced at role level and not only ina skills list
• Hands-on experience with high availability and loadbalancing in a production environment: clustering, failover, redundancy,and what happens when a node is lost
• Solid database skills: SQL, queryinvestigation and performance troubleshooting
• Good grasp of web serverarchitectures and microservices concepts
