Job summary

Micron Technology Technician - Facilities Tool Install

As the Facilities Tool Install Technician, you are directly involved in manufacturing tool install activities and routine/non‑routine maintenance activities pertaining to the process tools, as well as cleanroom preventive/corrective maintenance program. You must coordinate with contractors, take corrective and preventive actions for lessons learned and prevent recurrence. Additionally, you are responsible for performing utilities turn‑on after installation is completed. All activities should follow site procedures and safety policies to meet safety, quality, schedule and budget requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with all tool‑install contractors to execute equipment hookup for new, conversion, unhooking and relocation tools, meeting high quality standards, dynamic schedule and forecasted budget.
• Coordinate with Fab equipment owners to facilitate utilities release as per the planned schedule and update tool release status timely.
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with Global/F10 EHS requirements, local regulations, risk assessment, safe work procedures and permit‑to‑work system.
• Act as a Tool Install Safety Ambassador, coaching contractors and actively participating in the Tool Install Safety Committee, meetings, training and safe work practices.
• Establish regular area walks to identify opportunities for improved safety, cleanliness, housekeeping and efficiency.
• Maintain regular, respectful interaction with peers and vendors involved in tool installation, communicating all relevant information.
• Keep Supervisor informed regarding progress of assigned work and any abnormalities observed.
• Demonstrate ability to understand Vendor Model Process (VMP) and Location‑Specific Package (LSP) drawings, highlighting discrepancies.
• Follow area‑specific procedures and documentation such as VMP, LSP and Test Pack sign‑off by key stakeholders.
• Prioritize work tasks to meet schedule and expectations with minimal guidance from Supervisor.
• Perform tool‑related utilities and cleanroom system troubleshooting, collaborating with multiple FAC disciplines such as Mechanical for Cleanroom HVAC issues.
• Perform utilities turn‑on after installation completion.
• Perform test and balancing of exhaust for manufacturing tools when necessary.
• Measure utilities for tool consumption.
• Use methods to organize, calculate and display data accurately for utilities tracking and flow‑rate measurement.
• Perform site activities in accordance with Facilities 12 Disciplines, Cleanroom Protocols and TI General requirements.
• Complete learning items within the stipulated time frame.
• Integrate AI‑assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing and sharing AI‑enabled enhancements within your scope of work.
• For business process and/or QMS components that one is responsible or accountable for:
  • Ensure the QMS/business process is effective and conforms to requirements.
  • Ensure that the processes deliver their intended outputs.
  • Report on QMS/business process performance and opportunities for improvement to management.

Qualifications

• Minimum diploma or higher education background in engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in facilities engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience working in a front‑end semiconductor wafer fab environment.
• Strong project‑management skills with the ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Advantageous if proficient in automation and programming skills.
• Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role‑appropriate AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem‑solving, operational tasks and achieving business outcomes.
