Job Summary

As the Facilities Tool Install Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising and executing the site plan and design for all manufacturing tool install activities, including the cleanroom preventive and corrective maintenance program. You will oversee space planning of facilities utilities, coordinate with contractors to ensure tool‑install activities meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements, and manage project execution while maintaining a strong safety approach.

Main Responsibilities
  • Adhere to company’s environmental safety health policy, standard operating procedures with risk assessment, and good housekeeping standards when performing work.
  • Ensure implementation of systems and procedures required to attain department goals and objectives.
  • Handle resources to achieve desired goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of design philosophy and concept of facilities utilities systems for manufacturing production tools.
  • Plan and implement equipment hookups for new, conversion, unhooking, and relocation tools to meet high quality standards, dynamic schedules, and forecasted budgets.
  • Plan, track, and update the utilities database to support manufacturing production tools.
  • Plan and supervise capital and expense expenditures related to tool installation.
  • Review and approve equipment hookup drawings.
  • Lead all tool install contractors’ site work activities to comply with EHS regulations, risk assessment, safe work procedures, and permit‑to‑work systems.
  • Manage hookup project schedule and manpower assignment.
  • Coordinate with equipment engineers to finalize utilities release schedule and special requirements.
  • Perform utilities and cleanroom system fixing, conduct compressive root‑cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead and develop continual improvement of documentation in standard operating procedures, risk assessments, and installation procedures.
  • Lead outsourced contract service providers to perform work activities in accordance with service agreements.
  • Control costs associated with the area, minimize regular expenditures, and promote cost‑reduction projects.
  • Ensure all materials and manpower ordered are needed and used to complete activities.
  • Coordinate MOR/Funding cycle/CCM new tool scenario studies based on tool location and technical specification, and evaluate utilities base‑build projects and cost impacts with Planning IE/Layout team and facilities system owners.
  • Drive continual quality improvement, reliability improvement, and cost‑reduction programs for tool‑install activities to support department, site, and facilities global goals.
  • Support facilities global tool‑install, site‑wide tool‑install cost‑reduction, BKM, 18‑package scope alignment, and 30/20/10 program.
  • Integrate AI‑assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness while complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI‑enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Design and engineering background in mechanical systems such as HVAC and exhaust systems.
  • Familiarity with sustainability efforts (electricity, waste, water reduction) is a plus.
  • Ability to perform automation using MS Office suite; Excel VBA is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate across all levels.
  • Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning.
  • Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable.
  • Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry with Micron preferred.
  • Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively.
