Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Singapore is seeking a Facilities Tool Install Technician to lead tool-install activities for new, conversion, and relocation equipment, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance.

You will coordinate with contractors and Fab owners, perform safety walks, and integrate AI-enabled insights to boost efficiency. A diploma in engineering or higher and wafer fab experience are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with tool-install contractors to execute equipment hookups meeting high quality standards, dynamic schedule and forecasted budget.
  • Coordinate with Fab equipment owner to facilitate utilities release as per planned schedule, and update tool release status timely.
  • Follow safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with Global/F10 EHS and local regulations.
  • Act as Tool Install Safety Ambassador and participate in Safety Committee and training.
  • Establish regular area walks to identify opportunities for improved safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  • Communicate clearly with peers and vendors about relevant information in tool installation processes.
  • Keep Supervisor informed regarding progress and abnormalities observed in your area.
  • Understand Vendor Model Process (VMP) and Location Specific Package (LSP) drawings and highlight discrepancies.
  • Follow area procedures and documentation such as VMP, LSP, and Test Pack sign-offs by stakeholders.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot tool-related utilities and cleanroom systems with Mechanical and FAC teams.
  • Perform utilities turn-on after installation and test balancing of Exhaust for manufacturing tools when needed.
  • Measure utilities for tool consumption and display data for tracking and flow-rate measurement.
  • Adhere to Facilities 12 Disciplines, Cleanroom Protocols, and TI requirements.

As the Facilities Tool Install Technician, you are directly involved in Manufacturing tool install activities and routine/non‑routine maintenance activities pertaining to the process tools, as well as cleanroom preventive/corrective maintenance program. You will work proactively to coordinate with contractors on the ground for the execution and take corrective and preventive actions of lessons learned to prevent reoccurrence. You are responsible for performing utilities turn‑on after installation is completed. You will perform the activities in accordance with site procedure and safety policies established, to ensure all tool‑install related activities are completed meeting safety, quality, schedule and budget requirements.

Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Coordinate with all tool‑install contractors to execute equipment hookup for new, conversion, unhooking and relocation tools, to meet high quality standard, dynamic schedule and forecasted budget.
  • Coordinate with Fab equipment owner to facilitate utilities release as per planned schedule, and update tool release status timely.
  • Follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with Global/F10 EHS requirements, as well as local regulations, risk assessment, safe work procedures and permit to work system.
  • Play an active role in safety, as a Tool Install Safety Ambassador to coach contractors, and actively participating in Tool Install Safety Committee and meeting discussion, training and safe work practices.
  • Establish regular area walks to identify opportunities for improved safety, cleanliness, housekeeping and efficiency.
  • Establish regular, working interaction with peers as well as vendor involved in tool installation communicating clearly and respectfully all relevant information.
  • Keep Supervisor informed regarding progress of assigned work as well as any abnormalities observed in your area.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand Vendor Model Process (VMP) and Location Specific Package (LSP) drawing and highlight discrepancies.
  • Follow area‑specific procedures and documentation such as VMP, LSP and Test Pack sign off by key stakeholders.
  • Prioritize work tasks to meet schedule and expectation with minimum guidance from Supervisor.
  • Perform tool related utilities and cleanroom systems troubleshooting, and collaborate with multiple FAC disciplines such as Mechanical team for Cleanroom HVAC issues.
  • Perform utilities turn‑on after installation completion.
  • Perform test and balancing of Exhaust for manufacturing tools whenever necessary.
  • Perform measurement of utilities for tool consumption.
  • Use methods to organize, calculate, and display data accurately for utilities tracking and flow‑rate measurement.
  • Perform site activities in accordance to Facilities 12 Disciplines, Cleanroom Protocols and TI General requirements.
  • Complete learning items within the stipulated time frame.
  • Integrate AI‑assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI‑enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
  • For business process and/or QMS component that one is responsible or accountable for:
  1. Ensure the QMS/business process that is effective and conforms to requirements.
  2. Ensure that the processes are delivering their intended outputs.
  3. Report on QMS/business process performance and opportunities for improvement to management.
  4. Ensure the promotion of internal and external customer focus throughout the organization.
  5. Ensure the maintenance of the integrity of the QMS/ business process when changes are planned and implemented.
  6. Ensure customer requirements are met.
Job Requirements / Qualification
  • Minimum diploma or higher education background in Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in facilities engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in front‑end semiconductor wafer fab environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive and ambitious approach to problem‑solving.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering dedication to delivering flawless results.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Office and Power Point.
