Senior Manufacturing Application Support Engineer/Lead

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Application Support Engineer / Team Lead to oversee the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and warehouse systems. The incumbent will play a critical role in providing L2/L3 support, leading issue resolution efforts, collaborating with technical teams, and ensuring system availability across production environments. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting capabilities, manufacturing domain knowledge, and the ability to lead support initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Application Support & Incident Management

• Serve as the primary L2/L3 support lead for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and other shopfloor applications.
• Monitor and maintain the health, availability, and uptime of manufacturing and warehouse systems.
• Conduct detailed backend investigations and root cause analysis for incidents escalated from L1 support teams.
• Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and database-related issues to minimize operational disruption.
• Coordinate with technical leaders, developers, and vendors for advanced issue resolution and permanent fixes.

Production & Operations Support

• Act as the main IT contact for shopfloor and warehouse users regarding system functionality and operational support.
• Partner closely with production teams to analyze business requirements and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), functional validation, and hypercare activities for new system releases and enhancements.
• Ensure smooth deployment of new functionalities while minimizing impact to production operations.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Lead and mentor support team members, providing technical guidance and escalation support.
• Review and maintain support documentation, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues, trends, and process gaps.
• Assist the IT Support Manager in strengthening support capabilities and developing team competencies.

Change & Release Management

• Follow established IT governance and application control policies for system enhancements, releases, and deployments.
• Support software lifecycle management activities including testing, deployment, monitoring, and post-implementation reviews.
• Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and operational standards.

Requirements Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Application Support, MES Support, ERP Support, or related manufacturing IT environments.
• Experience supporting production shopfloor systems, warehouse applications, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Prior experience in a senior support, lead, or mentoring capacity is highly preferred.
• Fixed Shift: 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM (inclusive of 1-hour dinner break)

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, shopfloor operations, and warehouse workflows.
• Hands-on experience supporting:
• Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems
• Industry 4.0 technologies and digital manufacturing solutions
• Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with SQL queries, debugging tools, log analysis, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, release management, and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of helpdesk, ticketing, and incident management systems is an advantage.
