Job summary

SCIENTEC CONSULTING PTE. LTD. seeks an Operations Support Engineer to provide governance and maintenance for smart systems including IIoT and video platforms. The role focuses on system availability, security compliance, and vendor management.

You will monitor patching, risk, lifecycle management, renewals, logs and reports, and support change management while ensuring adherence to government ICT standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in IT, CS, Engineering or related discipline.
• Min. 2 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure support, system administration or governance.
• Good understanding of patch management and vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with IT security, risk management and change governance processes.
• Experience working with vendors and reviewing performance against SLAs and KPIs.
• Familiarity with Government ICT policies or regulated environments is a plus.
• Experience supporting enterprise systems, IoT or video systems is advantageous.
• Ability to identify operational risks and drive timely resolutions.

Job description

We are looking for an Operations Support Engineer to provide operational governance and maintenance support for smart systems, including Industrial IoT (IIoT), video systems and other technology platforms. The role focuses on ensuring system availability, security compliance, effective vendor management and adherence to Government ICT policies and standards.

Job Type: Full-Time Contract (Renewable basis)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee vendors and maintenance teams to ensure operations and maintenance activities comply with contractual, operational and security requirements.
• Monitor system patching activities, vulnerability assessment findings and remediation progress.
• Track and coordinate renewals for software licences, certificates and subscriptions.
• Review system and application logs to identify potential operational or security anomalies.
• Monitor End-of-Support (EOS) and End-of-Life (EOL) timelines and support system lifecycle planning.
• Support system risk assessments and maintain relevant risk, issue and compliance registers.
• Manage user accounts, access reviews and account hygiene activities.
• Review and audit monthly maintenance and performance reports against agreed SLAs, KPIs and operational standards.
• Ensure vendors adopt standardised maintenance reports, templates and operational documentation.
• Support change management, including the review, coordination and tracking of Change Requests.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to maintain system availability, reliability and security compliance.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Min. 2 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure support, system administration or technology operations governance.
• Good understanding of patch management, vulnerability management, user access management and system lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with IT security, risk management, change management and operational governance processes.
• Experience working with vendors and reviewing performance against SLAs and KPIs.
• Familiarity with Government ICT policies, security standards or regulated environments would be an advantage.
• Experience supporting enterprise systems, IoT platforms, video systems or similar operational technology environments would be advantageous.
• Able to identify operational risks, follow up on outstanding actions and ensure issues are resolved within required timelines.
