Job summary

Airbus in Singapore is seeking a Synthetic Flight Instructor to train airline crew on various operational and technical aspects of Airbus aircraft. The ideal candidate will hold a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and a Frozen or valid Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL), with at least 3000 flight hours, including 1500 hours on Multi Pilot Airplanes and Fly-by-Wire aircraft. Fluency in English is required. This role includes instructing and evaluating crew performance, contributing to training programs, and maintaining a high standard of airmanship.

Qualifications

• Experience as an instructor/examiner is an advantage.

Job Description

The Synthetic Flight Instructor is responsible for instructing airline crew converting to Airbus aircraft on all operational, technical, and performance aspects for a specific type (or types). The instructor also assists the Head of Training (HOT) with other training‑related duties when assigned.

• Instruct airline crew converting to Airbus aircraft on all operational and technical aspects for a specific type (or types) using Flight Training Devices, Fixed Base Simulators, and Full Flight Simulators, to ensure their capability to carry out safely and correctly all normal and emergency procedures required by Airworthiness authorities.
• Conduct theoretical training for type‑rating courses, flight operations courses and aircraft performance.
• Adhere to Airbus standard policy and standardisation as required by Flight Development and Flight Standardization & Policy.
• Instruct the crews within the defined time limits.
• Evaluate the crews’ progression.
• Decide, if required, on the necessity to accord extra training to achieve the required level of proficiency and competence as defined in the training objectives.
• Participate in the review or development of training programme as assigned by HOT.
• Conduct standardisation duties if appointed as Airbus Standardizer.
• Maintain a high level of airmanship to teach in a multicultural environment.
• Assist with flight training audits and FSTD fly‑outs and qualifications.
• Perform any other duty as assigned by Head of Training.

Job Requirements

• Hold or have held a CPL (Commercial Pilot License) and Frozen ATPL (Air Transport Pilot License) or a valid ATPL.
• Possess previous or current instructor/examiner experience – an added advantage.
• Minimum 3000 flight hours as Pilot.
• Minimum 1500 hours on MPA (Multi Pilot Airplane).
• Minimum 1500 hours on Airbus FBW (Fly‑by‑Wire) aircraft type(s).
• Fluent in English, with a minimum English Language Proficiency Rating of 5 to communicate with trainees and authorities.
• Candidates who have completed the Airbus Pilot Instructor Course (APIC) – an added advantage.
