Job summary

Seacare Manpower Services is seeking a Student Guidance Support Officer to help maintain a safe, respectful and conducive learning environment for students. You will provide immediate support during incidents, conduct investigations, engage with students with special needs, and work closely with the Student Development Team.

The role involves home visits, safeguarding, and coordinating with external agencies, with a 14-month contract and a typical Monday-to-Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work, Education or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience working with children/youths, preferably in a school, social service or related environment.
• Experience in student behavioural management, conflict resolution or case management is an advantage.
• Patient, firm yet warm, fair and respectful in dealing with students.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Able to remain calm and composed when handling challenging situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate support during student behavioural and safety incidents and assist with de-escalation.
• Conduct fact-finding and investigations into student misconduct and bullying cases.
• Implement appropriate disciplinary and restorative interventions in accordance with school guidelines.
• Engage students with behavioural, social-emotional and learning needs.
• Conduct home visits and neighbourhood patrols where required.
• Supervise students placed on student development and intervention programmes.
• Engage parents/guardians and work closely with the school's Student Development Team.
• Liaise with external agencies where necessary.
• Maintain accurate case records and update student information in the school system.
• Support student development programmes and related administrative duties.
