Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital Pte Ltd is seeking an Inventory Clerk within the Operating Theatre (OT) Operations Support team to ensure availability and proper handling of surgical consumables.

You will monitor stock levels, manage expiry using EEFO, receive and issue supplies, and maintain accurate records in our electronic systems, supporting OT nursing and daily operations with care for safety and infection control.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCE N-Level/O-Level or NITEC, with 1–2 years in storekeeping or inventory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and stock rotation.

Responsibilities

• Manage OT supplies and ensure adequate stock availability.
• Monitor expiry dates and implement EEFO stock rotation.
• Receive, verify, store and issue supplies according to procedures.
• Ensure proper storage conditions (temperature, sterility, safety).
• Maintain accurate inventory records in electronic systems.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and audits.
• Work with OT nursing and operational teams for smooth operations.
• Participate in hospital quality management audits.
• Other duties assigned by OT Senior Management.

Overview

As part of the Operating Theatre (OT) Operations Support team, you will support the effective management and availability of surgical consumables and supplies to ensure smooth and safe OT operations. You will be responsible for inventory management, stock control, proper storage and compliance with established hospital policies, safety and infection control standards. You will also work closely with OT nursing and operational support teams to maintain efficient and high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage OT supplies and surgical consumables to ensure adequate stock availability.
• Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper stock rotation using Earliest Expiry First Out (EEFO) practices.
• Receive, verify, store and issue supplies according to established procedures.
• Ensure proper storage conditions (temperature, sterility, safety) for all consumables.
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance with infection control standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in the electronic systems.
• Monitor damaged, expired or obsolete items and escalated isolated issues for follow up.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, audits and emergency preparedness exercises.
• Work closely with OT nursing and operational teams to support smooth and efficient operations.
• Participates in hospital's quality management audit and activities.
• Any other duties/projects as assigned by OTS Senior Management.

Requirements

• Minimum GCE N-Level/O-Level or NITEC, preferably with 1 to 2 years of experience in storekeeping, warehousing, inventory or materials management.
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Knowledge of inventory management and stock control, with sound understanding of receiving, issuing storage.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details, with ability to maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock accuracy.
• Physically fit and capable of handling, moving, and storing materials in accordance with workplace safety requirements.
