Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital is seeking an Operating Theatre Assistant to support the surgical team by preparing operating theatres, assisting with patient transfers, and maintaining a clean, organised surgical environment.

You will work in a fast-paced healthcare setting, be dependable, attentive to hygiene and infection control, and rotate through 3-shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays in Singapore.

This role offers critical support to safe and efficient surgical care.

Qualifications

• Secondary education or equivalent qualification.
• Able to work rotating 3-shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
• Able to perform duties that involve prolonged standing, walking, pushing equipment, and assisting with patient transfers.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Attentive to hygiene, infection control, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care activities before, during and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating theatres according to the daily surgical schedule.
• Check, maintain, and ensure readiness of operating theatre equipment.
• Collect, bag, and clear soiled linen from operating theatres, disposal areas, and changing rooms.
• Segregate and dispose of general and biohazard waste in accordance with established safety protocols.
• Transport patients safely between wards and the operating theatre.
• Perform despatch and logistical support duties as required.
• Replenish, organise, and maintain operating theatre supplies and inventory.
• Adhere to infection control, workplace safety, and operational procedures.
